VIMS has a wide experience in the field geological-technological study and economic estimation of barite deposits (Kholinskoe deposit in Komi Republic, Voshorsloe deposit in Tyumen district, barite deposits in Kazakhstan). Technologies worked up by VIMS form the basis for the project of benefication plant of Sobskaya group of barite deposits in Tyumen district.

VIMS owns new ecologically safety and high-efficient technology for production barite weighting materials and mictobarites by a "dry" way. This way uses small quantity of energy and metal, is water-free and toxic component-free, and, as a whole, is two-times cheaper than traditional technology.
