Methods of translucent electron microscopy for the study of finely dispersed ores

The results of the research may be used in studying ores’ mineral composition, exposure of genetic and prospecting-and-valuated features, valuation of minerals stability in technological process and ecological system

Purpose: Visualization and diagnostics of mineral phases of finely dispersed (up to 0.00n mcm) disseminated ores, determining their dimensions, morphology, distinction of crystalline structure and distribution in rock and host rock.

Tasks solving with the offered methods:

Advantages

Studying such type of ores by traditional mineralogical methods (radiography, IRS, optical microscopy) having comparatively high detection threshold, is limited or excluded on account of their dispersivity and often low concentration of ore emission.

Testing:

Methodologies of specimen preparation and electron-microscopic study of finely dispersed dispersion mineralization have been tested on uranium and rare-metal ores of various genetic types of deposits in the Middle Asia, Kazakhstan, Asian part of Russia and Mongolia; the results of researches were used in valuation ore units reserves, complex ores technological processing, solution of genetic questions, favour the efficiency of prospecting.
