Scientific Council on methods of researche of minerals (SCMRM) carries out the following works on maintenance of quality of mineralogical analyses when prospecting, exploration and technological investigating:

• Estimation of quality of mineral raw material,

• Scientific maintenance and control of processing of ores and

concentrates.

The management of quality is provided:

• By the normative and technical documents (NTD): "Instruction for organization of quality control" and by "Instructions…" for a wide spectrum (more than 200) of methods of analysis of minerals, ores and technological products. Reliability of these analitical methods are estimated metrologically.

• By standard samples of phase composition and properties of minerals (SSPP) and diagnostic mineral collections;

• By inter-department and and inter-laboratory control of results quantitative mineralogical/phase analyses, carried out for natural ores and technogeneous objects.

The list of NTD, which are estimated and asserted by SCMRM, is submitted in the Directory issued by VIMS (1997).

All NTD and SSPP can be given to the interested institutions and persons on a contract basis.

SCMRM carries out the examination of metrological and methodical development in the field of researches of minerals of natural ores and technogeneous wastes.
