Obtaining commodity high-grade iron ore concentrates, in which fraction of total mass of impurities (including silica) does not exceed 0.25%. Such concentrates are much in demand for iron powder and metal-containing briquettes, nickel-iron-cells, ferrites, pigments and etc. Integrated iron-and-steel works, electrotechnical industry plants, producers of paints are the main consumers of obtained iron concentrates.

VIMS, Joint-stock company "Ferrum", Joint-stock company "GeotechVIMS" have worked out technologies and pilot-scale industrial production of high-grade iron concentrate and ecologically pure pigment on the basis of well hydroproduction (WHP) of naturally high-grade hematite ores of deposits of Kursk magnetic anomaly.

Method of WHP worked out by VIMS allowed to produce from the bowels of the earth from the depths of 800-100 m the richest part of mentioned ores containing 65-68% of iron and low contents of silica, sulphur, phosphorus and non-ferrous metals. Production of these ores occurring under complicated mining-geological conditions by traditional method is effectiveless. The essence of WHP method consists in development of ore-run by wells, hydraulic giant destruction of ore solid mass and hoisting ore to the surface as slurry. WHP technology is ecologically pure and wasteless: water is used in closed cycle, the regime of surface water does not break, slime storages and spoil heaps of dead-rocks are absent.Complete automation of production is possible.

Obtained high-grade ores are beneficiated in VIMS(Naro-Fominsk) industrial base according to worked out magnetic-gravitational circuit with concentrates of required purity production. They exceed known commodity products by quality that are obtained from "The blue dust" ore.

Design envisages the reconstruction of production lines in the working areas and making section of well hydroproduction of iron ore in Belgorodsky region of Russian Federation.

Planning operation expenses – 2,2 mln. USD a year.

Start of production will allow to process 50 thousand tons of raw materials a year and will provide production with the following marketable products:

• Especially pure iron ore concentrate for metallurgy – 20 thousand tons a year.
• Pigment – 5 thousand tons a year.
• Aglomerated ore – 5 thousand tons a year.

In terms of money volume of marketable products will be 5,2 mln. USD a year.

Necessary volume of investments – 8.0 mln.USD.

Pay-back period – 2.5 years.

Allocation of credits 8 mln. USD

Creation of joint enterprise with investor’s share in authorized capital up to 50%.
