Production of the commodity product – synthetic zeolite NaA, using as the basic filler in synthetic detergents (SD), coagulants and adsorbents in petroleum (refining), petrochemical, gas industries, civil engineering and etc. on the basis of new technologies of processing high-siliceous bauxites, bauxite rocks and kaolin clays.

Low-waste, ecologically clean and cheaper than the traditional technology of synthetic zeolite production out of natural alumo-aluminous-siliceous raw materials has been worked out in VIMS.

Principle technological circuit consists in caking bauxite rocks in mixture with soda and cake leaching with production of three commodity products:

• synthetic zeolite NaA;
• aluminium hydroxide;
• rare metal concentrate (mud)

Zeolite obtained by this technology completely conforms to the requirements of SD, sorbents, coagulants production

Various low-iron alumina-bearing rocks with Al₂O₃ and SiO₂ content not less than 30% and their proportion from 1.1 up to 2.5 may be used as raw materials.Calcium and sulphur oxides are undesirable components to raw materials. Other components are not limitted.In the central regions of Russia reserves of such raw materials are very large and available, and occur in the exploiting and detailed prospected deposits.

At present the world and Russian needs in synthetic zeolites are estimated accordingly at 1500-2000 thousand tons. In the world market the price of synthetic zeolites for SD is fluctuating from 600 up to 1000 $ for ton, and for sorbents’ sorts reaches 10 000$ for ton. Manufactoring cost of synthetic zeolites produced by the new method is not more than 250 against 400-600$ by traditional one.

The plan of the factory construction with 40 thousand tons of synthetic zeolite and 35 thousand tons of aluminium hydroxide annual production on the basis of annual processing not less than 100 thousand tons of natural raw materials is proposed. Such factory may be non-deficiently function on the base of bauxite mines, working aluminous factories and other industries having caking and production equipment.

Necessary volume of investments depending on producing base and social infrastructure will be from 6 up to 20mln. $.

Annual output of commodity production in terms of money will be 30-40 mln $ including:

• zeolite (600 $/ton) – 25-30 mln.$;
• alumina (250 $/ton) – 5-10 mln.$;

Pay-back period of investments is from 1 till 3 years beginning from the start-up moment.

Period of factory’s action is not less than 40 years.

Realization of the design is conducted in three stages:

1. Experimental-commercial tests and drawing up technogical regulations adopted to the concrete source of raw materials and industrial complex.
2. Designing of production;
3. Organization, field adjustment and start-up.

Creation of joint-stock enterprise with investor’s share in authorized capital from 30%.
