Production of analytical systems for gold, silver and accompanying elements determination

 

Purpose

Production of analytical systems for 10-3 - 10n g/t of gold, n10-1g/t and more of silver and also accompanying and other elements determination (Cu, Zn, Pb, As etc.) by prospecting and mining works on the basis X-ray fluorescent and power dispersional spectrometer and set certified methods.

Description

Operating model of X-ray fluorescent and power dispersional spectrometer and developed method for determination of gold, silver and accompanying and other elements in powder and liquid samples on the basis of serial equipment produced by industry has been created in VIMS. Chemical preparation of the sample for gold determination from presented weight (50 and more grams) is used. It is possible to determine silver and non-ferrous metals besides gold from produced solutions of acid break-down. The construction of the spectrometer also allows to determine these and other elements directly from grinded powder of the sample. Output of the system (methodology+device) by gold is more than 50 samples for 6 hours of work. At simultaneous determination of the group of elements the output increases proportion to their number.

Analytical system may be used for simultaneous determination up to 15-20 elements with atomic numbers from 22 (titanium) and higher in geologic samples, soils, grounds, building materials, waters. Field of application may be expanded at the expense of simultaneous determination of platinum metals.

In the construction of the spectrometer the low-powered primary radiation sources with low stability are used owing to technical solutions in methodology of analysis without damage to accuracy of analytical results.

Realization of the design

At present need in analytical system of Russia is 100-150 sets only to fulfil prospecting and mining works.

Direct expenditure for complete equipment and making spectrometer are 20 000 US $ for analysis under stationary conditions and 25000 US $ under field conditions.

In the world market cost of analytical systems with similar possibilities is not less than 100 - 150 000 US $.

Creation of enterprise for production 20 analytical systems a year is offered.

Necessary volume of investments is 300000 $ USA.

Payback time is 1-2 years. Attaining the designed indices during 1 - 1.5 years.

Investor's participation

Creation of joint enterprise with investor's share from 30 %.
